A NOTE FROM THE
MARKET MANAGER
Welcome to our first monthly Vendor Bulletin!
There’s always plenty happening behind the scenes at TLFM, and this month I’ve been putting a big focus on improving our communication — catching up on correspondence, working towards quicker response times and fine-tuning our application and booking processes to make things a little smoother for everyone.
The new Vendor Bulletin is another part of that.
Each month, this will be our go-to place for upcoming event dates and EOIs, market updates, social media results, vendor tips, reminders and a bit of an insight into what we’re working on behind the scenes.
Our markets are constantly growing and evolving, and there is a lot of work, planning and passion that goes into making each one happen. I’m hoping this bulletin gives our vendors a better look at the bigger picture — what we’re achieving together, what’s coming next and how we can continue building stronger markets for our local communities.
Thank you for being part of it. I’m excited to see where we can take things from here!
See you at the markets,
Jodie

VENDOR TIP

PRESENTATION MATTERS.
This month, I want you to take a fresh look at your SETUP. Your stall is your SHOPFRONT for the day, and how it looks absolutely plays a part in whether someone STOPS or keeps walking.
MARKET STALLS
Keep displays FULL, CLEAN and INVITING. Create HEIGHT, avoid CLUTTER, hide boxes and personal items, and make sure your BUSINESS NAME and PRICING are easy to see. Stand back from your stall before trading and look at it through a CUSTOMER’S EYES — would it make you stop?
FOOD VENDORS & FOOD TRUCKS
Customers should be able to tell WHAT YOU SELL before they reach your service window. CLEAR MENUS, VISIBLE PRICING, STRONG SIGNAGE and a CLEAN FRONTAGE make ordering easier and your business much more inviting.
NIGHT MARKETS — LIGHT, LIGHT, LIGHT.
I say this all the time: PEOPLE ARE LIKE FLIES TO A LIGHT.
The brighter your setup, the more likely people are to NOTICE YOU. Don’t rely on the reserve lighting. LIGHT YOUR SIGNAGE, MENUS, PRODUCTS and the front of your stall or truck. Good lighting can completely transform your setup at a twilight market.
Need some help? Head to the FEATURED SECTION of our STALLHOLDERS FACEBOOK PAGE for our lighting tips and recommendations.
THIS MONTH’S CHALLENGE
Take five minutes at your next market to STEP OUT THE FRONT and look at your setup as a customer. What could you change to MAKE THEM STOP?
